The Woodrolfe Lodge was formed as an offshoot of the Tollesbury Lodge in 1971 because it was taking members up to 20 years to reach the Worshipful Master`s Chair following their Initiation. The name is pronounced “Woodup” in accordance with local village traditions.
- The Lodge was founded and consecrated on 10th May, 1971 at the Masonic Hall, Chelmsford.
- The Lodge is based at the Masonic Centre, East Street, Tollesbury, Maldon, Essex CM9 8QE
- The Lodge meets seven times a year on the second Monday in the months of February, March, April, May, October, November and December.
- Meetings start at 6 pm and are followed by a Festive Board where the Lodge members and their guests dine together in a convivial atmosphere. There is no compulsion to dine if members have other commitments.
- The meetings follow a set format and involve Masonic Ritual which is derived from centuries old traditions and customs
- The Lodge currently has 33 subscribing members.
