The Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariners (RAM) is governed by the Grand Master’s (HRH Prince Michael of Kent) Royal Ark Council.
Initiation into the degree is termed as being ‘Elevated’ and the ceremony is based on the Biblical story of the Flood, when Noah built an Ark for the preservation of his ‘Family’ and all living creatures.
Historically all Mark Master Masons are eligible to become Royal Ark Mariners. You will find there is no direct connection to the Mark Degree, however, it is a requirement that all Royal Ark Mariners are linked to the same Mark Lodge with the same Lodge number but meetings are entirely separate.
The Saxon Shore Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No.1319 meets at the Tollesbury Masonic Centre twice a year in the months of April and November.
